Poetry - Earth, Time & Rhyme

I saw her...
She was crying uncontrolably...
It was Mother Earth hunched over
With teary eyes
Tired of all the sinful lies
That man has told to her...
She felt that an apology
Was owed to her
Because she said that man had scolded her
When she wasn't the one to be scolded...
She sat there as she folded
The napkin that was wet from tears
Wondering how after all these years
Could man still abuse her...
But realizing at the same time
That man is an abuser
And set out to confuse her
So she should treat him like a loser
And let him go...

In the meantime
Father time was looking at his watch
Wondering how long before time stops
As he paces the floor
'Cause he can't take it anymore...
His hands grow weary
Of this theory
That time lasts forever
"They better get it together"
He says under his breath
Knowing that there's little time left...
See, he's tired of seeing Mother Earth
Being treated this way
Every second of every minute
Of every hour of every day
So he's ready to do away, with man
And his master plan...
So he grips grains of sand
In his right hand
And let's it start to fall...
As he says, "There's very little time left at all"...

Now back to Mother Earth
It seems to have gotten worse
And at this point Mother Earth starts
To rant, rave and curse
And she seems to be riding
A roller coaster of emotions
She talks about the slaves
That disappeared in her oceans
And she tells about how man
Is striping her of her resources
As she looks back in time,
She begins to get nauseous
And at night she has nightmares
As she turns and tosses
Trying to be cautious
Wondering if she should cut her losses
And cause natural disasters
To destroy man
Because of his evil plans...
And while Father Time is still releasing
The grains of sand
She goes on to talk about how wars
Were faught over her land
And gold, silver and oil
Were on short supply and demand
All of which has been seized
By mans selfish clan
Trying to do her in
As fast as he can...

She mentions the ozone layer
And how it has a hole in it
And there's nothing she can do,
No way of controlin' it
We polute her air
And spill oil in her seas
Endangering her animals
And cutting down her trees
Mother Earth grieves
Because there's nowhere to run
And "Why me?" says this
Third rock from the sun
Because man and his power
Have been severely overrated
"Why can't we go back to the days
when I was first created?"
Father time was young then
And he was more like a brother
And I Mother Earth was more like a sister
And less like a mother
And the two of us co-existed
And complimented each other
And we had all the time
In the world to discover
Gods plan...

But then in came man
With his self destructive ways
At first she thought
That it was just a phase
But now everyday
She kneels and prays
Hoping that man
Will invite better days
But by then Father time
Let the last grain drop
And rightfully so
It hit like a rock
The fat lady was singing
While the last crow cocked
Mother Earth took her own life
And all time had stopped...
People, we need to appreciate
what we've got
So we won't become the people
That Father Time... forgot!

Poetry - Use To Be Mine

Unfamiliar to the notion of being alone...still recalling your embrace
that amazing face that I see...walking...grasping hands
Another lady admiring my man...that used to be
Entirely, but this is not a fantasy but a harsh reality

A lil green...I admit, to the thought of you and she...
that "she" used to be me, now in the past tense..
EX...cuse my stingy feelings letting go is not a forte' of mine
Yet it is simply futility... to go about dwelling on the history of once upon a time
Memories of our love still reside in my mind
and love is all I have left to hold on to
I can't push away the thought of having to let go
but can't bare not being that "she" who's with you

I sit and contemplate everyday about what made you leave me for “she”
The day you decided my time had expired and that “she” was where you wanted to be,
I continually play back the day you left in my mind over and over and over again
Trying to see what you didn’t get from me that now you think you have found in “she”

Emptiness on that side of the bed where you laid night after night
And still here I sit EX..citedly anticipating conversations yet to be had
Only to realize that what was is no longer what is but rather what will never be again
Realizing I may never be able to speak us into existence

I overstand what she has is very little to my standards.
No longer will I dream those dreams, future plans of you being my man, white gown "Best couple in town"...that was all an illusion so I've come to this
conclusion!
Thanks for your time, but no longer will I dwell on what;
"Used To Be Mine".

Poetry - She Noticed

She’s beautiful she’s bold,
Her heart is pure gold.
She’s independent and unique,
But through his eyes he can’t see,
That everything she does,
For him is filled with love.
But because of his cheating and beating on her,
Her heart is dropping to the bottom of her soul like an anchor.
All the pain and agony and strife,
Is slowly taking the joy out her life.
And as he sits and chats with another girl online,
He doesn’t realize that that she’ll be gone in matter of time.
She finally realizes that her life’s a living hell,
So she packs up and leaves before she loses her mind and goes to jail.
The longer she stays the closer she is to killing him,
And she’ll be standing at his tomb stone crying over him.
But now she’s on her way,
To better life and a brighter day,
Her pain has been finished,
Because she noticed.
